Welcome to The Fireworks Superstore in Hannibal, Missouri — the largest retail fireworks outlet in the world. Built in 2006 and open year-round, our store was created by Tom Marx and his son, Josh, with a simple mission: bring together the biggest selection of fireworks in America under one roof and offer them at fair, competitive prices. Today, that mission is alive and well — and bigger than ever.

The Marx family’s connection to fireworks stretches back more than 51 years. Edward Marx and his son, Tom, opened their first 12′ x 20′ fireworks stand in Oakwood, Missouri in the mid-sixties. In the mid-seventies, Tom expanded into a seasonal roadside tent south of Hannibal known as Big Tent Fireworks, a popular summer destination from June 20th through July 10th for three decades.

In 2006, the seasonal tent evolved into something unprecedented: a massive, climate-controlled, 126,000 sq. ft. retail superstore dedicated entirely to fireworks. What began as an ambitious vision has become a landmark. 

In November 2024, we said goodbye to our beloved founder and owner, Tom Marx — but his vision, passion, and larger-than-life spirit continue to guide us every day through his wife, nephews, and the dedicated team he built.

Today, The Fireworks Superstore carries over 4,000 different retail fireworks items, offering more variety than any other store in America. From small novelties to the largest 500-gram finales, customers travel from across the country to experience our unmatched selection. We focus on quantity, quality, and competitive pricing, giving customers the ability to find everything they need for celebrations of any size.

We are strictly a retail fireworks store — we do not wholesale and we do not ship. Our massive showroom is fully handicap accessible, staffed by passionate pyro experts, and designed to deliver a one-of-a-kind shopping experience every time you visit.
